Update on the Official Schedule for the 2021 MotoGP Pre-season Test

Gealena — MotoGP 2021 pre-season test. The following is the latest schedule for the 2021 MotoGP pre-season tests. Following the cancellation of the event in Malaysia and being replaced by two additional tests that will take place in Qatar.

Dorna Sports, FIM, and IRTA have just announced the latest MotoGP pre-season test schedule, Thursday (14/01/21) evening WIB. After the test scheduled to be held at the Sepang circuit, Malaysia on February 19-21 was officially canceled.

In fact, there will be two tests that will be held at the Sepang Circuit. Namely the shakedown test which is followed by testers and rookies, and the official pre-season test which is followed by all racers.

However, the pre-season test had to be canceled after the Malaysian government declared a state of emergency due to Covid-19. Which will last until August.

The cancellation of the official test held in Malaysia also made Dorna, FIM, and IRTA. Decide to replace the schedule with a one-day shakedown test at the Losail circuit, Qatar on March 5, 2021.

The test session will take place behind closed doors and will only be attended by test riders or test riders. As well as debutant riders Luca Marini, Enea Bastianini, and Jorge Martin.

Then there will be additional official tests for all premier class riders taking place from March 6 – 7. Meanwhile, the test session held on March 10-12 will not change.

Following are the Update on the MotoGP 2021 Pre-season Test Schedule:

  • March 3-4, 2021: Set-up
  • March 5, 2021: Shakedown test for rookie and rookie racers in Qatar
  • 6-7 March 2021: Official test in Qatar
  • 10-12 March 2021: Official Test in Qatar
